First Aid at Work

A full Health and Safety Executive NI (HSENI) approved First Aid at Work course, in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Once qualified, holders of this First Aid at Work certificate can be used as First Aiders in the workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. This course can be adapted to suit a particular audience, for example, clerical or engineering staff. The First Aid at Work course is run over three days and includes both theory and practical sessions.

The First Aid at Work Syllabus Includes:

- First Aid Priorities 
- Managing Incidents 
- Basic Life Support 
- Examination of a Casualty 
- Unconsciousness 
- Control of Bleeding 
- Fractures 
- Burns and Scalds
- Common Illnesses 
- Heart Attacks
- Eye Injuries 
- Dressings
- Recording and Reporting 
- Regulations
- First Aid Kits

Students are independently examined on the final afternoon of the course. Upon successful completion certification is valid for three years*. 

First Aid at Work

*Under the current guidelines it is “strongly recommend” that first aid trained staff attend a half-day update every twelve months – before completing full re-qualification training at the three year point. 

FPOS INTERMEDIATE.: DESIGNED FOR THOSE WISH TO ENHANCE THERE SKILLS OR WORK IN A HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT

FPOS Intermediate and First Aid at Work – Scene Safety, Airway Management, Oxygen Therapy, Spinal Immobilisation, Defibrillation, Trauma and Medical Emergencies AED, Extended Skills – Cannulation, Fluid Therapy, Advanced Trauma – Chest, Abdominal, Head and Extremity (including Tourniquets and Quick Clot) 

Cost
The cost for individual places on our regular “open” courses is £495 + VAT for all five days. This includes manuals, certification, tea/coffee.
